JFWCo performs many types of survey work including boundary, topographic, and construction.  JFWCo is highly respected as an expert in performing ALTA/ACSM title surveys.   JFWCo’s main focus is providing ALTA/ACSM surveys as well as other related professional surveying, mapping, research, planning and management work for large-scale energy developments and overhead electric transmission lines. We perfom oil and gas related surveys such as pipeline r-o-w's, oil and gas unit boudary's and well location staking. We specialize in providing surveying services, land services and development services for energy.

Because of our extensive experience with performing ALTA surveys for energy projects we have developed a philosophy for the ALTA survey.  This survey is not simply a required product for a title policy or financial closing.  It is not just an ordinary survey.  The ALTA survey coupled with our experience is a Risk Management Tool.  The data we gather allows for the proper placement of all the project facilities.  The survey identifies problem areas and possible land owner conflicts.  The survey identifies gaps in properties, and especially where the developer might be missing land in their lease.  During the ALTA process we work closely with the title company, the developer, the land owners, and all the various counsels to make sure all the project area is properly leased, that there are no conflicts, that the title of the land is vested properly and that all encumbrances are accounted.   Lastly we are able to maintain all the records and data throughout the project in order to monitor the project to make sure any potential title problems are avoided during construction.  The ALTA survey is the “core” survey function for any major energy project.  During this process we are able to coordinate all other types of surveying services that might be needed for a specific project.  Finally from this information we can create all types of project maps in many formats that can be used for all types of planning and presentation. 

As surveyors we are “keepers of the data” and it is our responsibility and duty to maintain complete and accurate data, plans, ideas, contacts, rules, setbacks, lease/easement requirements, etc. throughout the life of the project to insure that there are no gaps, gores, encroachments or other land related problems with the new project.
